Why
01The office runs on paper and memory
Walk into most coaching institutes and the operation is held together by a register, a receipt book, a spreadsheet somebody guards carefully, and a WhatsApp group per batch. It works, in the sense that the institute runs. It also means the enquiry nobody called back is invisible, the fee nobody chased is invisible, and the question did we make money this month takes an evening to answer.
Software for this exists. Most of it is built for schools and sold to coaching institutes, which is why it arrives with a transport module and a hostel module and no idea what a demo class is.
GyanLink is the other way round: built for coaching institutes first, shaped around enquiry → demo → enrolment → batches → attendance → fees → tests → renewal, because that is the actual loop.

These are the decisions that shaped the product more than any feature did.
Built for coaching, not adapted from school software
The enquiry that needs a third follow-up, the demo class, the batch priced for the year and paid in installments, the teacher paid per session — these are the core of the product, not features bolted onto a school ERP.
One record, in one place
A person has one profile and one login. A payment is recorded once. Nothing is entered twice and then left to disagree with itself, which is where most institute software quietly goes wrong.
Your data stays yours, and stays separate
Every institute's records are isolated at the database level, not by a filter in the application. One institute cannot see another's data even if the software above it has a bug.
We build narrow and deep
Twelve modules that work properly, rather than thirty that half-work. When we do not know a domain well enough to build it right, we say so and leave it out.
